SRCW Nagaland observes International Girl Child Day 2013

Along with the rest of the world, Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) and SRCW Nagaland observed ‘International Day of the Girl Child 2013’ on the theme “Innovating for Girl Child Education” at Modern School, Kohima on October 11, 2013. A special song “Any Dream Will Do” was presented by the Adolescent Girls Club (AGC) of Modern School. Speaking on the occasion, Smt R. Juliana Medom, Planning Officer, SRCW emphasized on the need to curb and to combat child marriage, child prostitution, sexual abuse and exploitation, child trafficking and violence against girls and women. Highlighting the significance of education, Smt Medom encouraged the students and teachers by emphasising that education plays a vital role in fighting against these social evils.
